# Introduction

## Rising from the Ashes

CanaryX was set up and gained traction very fast due to a referral based airdrop. As such many people purchased $CNYX and held it in their wallets enjoying the reflections. The project was going OK but there were many delays and bad communication.

From September 2023 no one had any news from the founders of CanaryX and as community members and investors we decided to hijack the project and take it in a new direction.

And so, Canary Reborn enters the scene! The epic comeback has begun...

## Burn2mint

Burn2mint was a process that ran between 15 - 22 February 2024 whereby users could burn their [$CNYX ](https://songbird-explorer.flare.network/token/0x8d32E20d119d936998575B4AAff66B9999011D27/token-transfers)tokens and mint the new Canary Reborn Token [$CRB](https://songbird-explorer.flare.network/token/0x5369B08B9a5023d6178A1491eE2F44b0B7301Fc9/token-transfers).

In total 799 wallets completed 1201 transactions and with the following outcome:

* 121,317,703 $CNYX was burned
* 121,317,703 $CRB was minted

It is relevant at this stage to mention the outcome of the first DAO Vote, ([CRP-001](https://docs.canary-reborn.xyz/general/dao-voting#crp-001-ownership-of-crb-token)) which means that the Harvest contract will remain owner of the $CRB token, without any possibility of changing owner.&#x20;

$CRB can now only be minted using the Harvest function.
